The Truth Comes Out:
Barack Obama Really DID
Join The Socialist New Party

just elected to Illinois' State Senate.

If you followed the 2008 election with any care, you knew one of the big problems Barack Obama faced running for the Presidency was convincing enough people he was a moderate, mainstream, middle-of-the-road politician.

Since his past was riddled with radical associations and stated beliefs, this was quite a problem to surmount, but he was able to successfully sell a version of his past to much of the public that had been carefully scrubbed of any hint of radical associations.

Shortly before the 2008 elections, NRO investigative journalist Stanley Kurtz found evidence that Obama had joined & asked for the endorsement of the radical socialist New Party in 1996 when he was running for Illinois' State Senate.

Much like the revelation of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's radicalism, a controversial pastor who's church Obama had attended for over 20 years, the MSM quickly moved to obscure, defuse, and defend their candidate for the Presidency by smearing Kurtz, denying the evidence, & loudly proclaiming there was nothing to see here.

Media Matters for America & the Obama campaign website 'Fight the Smears' led the charge against Kurtz:

Right-wing hatchet man and conspiracy theorist, Stanley Kurtz is pushing a new crackpot smear against Barack falsely claiming he was a member of something called the New Party.
But the truth is Barack has been a member of only one political party, the Democratic Party. In all six primary campaigns of his career, Barack has has run as a Democrat. The New Party did support Barack once in 1996, but he was the only candidate on the ballot in his race and never solicited the endorsement.

Ben Smith then did what he does best, a classic 'Hey-Folks-Nothing-To-See-Here!' article at Politico:

Having gotten the cover they needed, the Old Media then quickly buried the story and moved.  Hey, no need to, you know, actually INVESTIGATE anything here like vetting the President or taking a critical look at his past.

Kurtz kept pursuing the story & now the MSM is going to have a harder time burying what the truth is.  He's found New Party records, including membership rolls and meeting minutes, all of which prove that not only did Barack Obama join The New Party, he did indeed seek it's endorsement.

From the New Party's own meeting minutes of January 11, 1996:

Barack Obama, candidate for State Senate in the 13th Legislative District, gave a statement to the membership and answered questions. He signed the New Party “Candidate Contract” and requested an endorsement from the New Party. He also joined the New Party.

Kurtz then states he has the membership roll of the Chicago chapter of The New Party from early 1997 in which Barack Obama is listed as a member, with January 11, 1996 given as the date he joined.

I'm sure Ben LaBolt, Eric Boehlert, Ben Smith, et. al. will once again lead the charge to try to defuse this issue.  Obama must remain unvetted, after all.

One problem:  It'll be much harder to pull off a 'Nothing To See Here Folks!' controlled explosion now that people have watched Obama in office for 3 1/2 years and noticed his policies - especially domestically - do indeed have a socialist bent to them.

John Nolte at Big Journalism demonstrates how the New Media is very well aware of the Old Media strategy of 'BenSmithing' a story and has figured out how to counter it:

For fuller coverage of this latest revelation that confirms Obama's radical socialist past & how the Old Media conspired with Campaign Obama to hide it:

BTW, just so everybody knows, that screenshot at the beginning of the article is taken from The New Party's own newspaper:

The Old Media still has no interest whatsoever in vetting this guy.  But that's OK. Others will do it for them.

  1. Let's face it - all that this fail-bomb vetting shows is that Obama is/was a shameless opportunist who would do anything or join anything or wear whatever mask that he felt would give him any kind of gain or get his name out there. In other words - a politician. That might also explain how he's become a full-fledged Wall Street-controlled corporatist. -JF

    1. Let's face it - the issue here is Obama & his campaign lied about his joining the New Party and asking for it's endorsement.

& how the Old Media was complicit in selling that lie.

      Try again.

  2. No, that's what it's about when you play all of this as a dumbed-down spoon-fed sport. But it's not. It's about the big boys dividing and conquering and giving you little catnip toys to play with while they get on with the business of corn-holing you.

Try again? Try at all. - JF

    1. Incorrect. It's about the smearing of Stanley Kurtz for reporting on accurate information. He told the truth and the Old Media smeared him for it.

Ben Smith & the Obama campaign - especially those running the 'Fight The Smears' website - owe him an apology.

BTW, in his report at NRO, Kurtz states he has more evidence. This is just the start of the rollout.

Your 'both sides are exactly alike' BS is noted - and rejected.

    2. I'm not even saying you're wrong. You repeatedly only hear what you want to hear, off on some misdemeanor tangent while the crimes escape your gaze. I'm talking about big vs. little pictures. In other words, regarding this "vetting" thing: who gives a shit? -JF

    3. Why, nobody really. Just the 40% of the country that's Conservative & expects the media to live up to it's self-proclaimed job - being watchdogs on behalf of the public.

The Old Media picked sides. They're not watchdogs, they're lapdogs. Some people notice this. It bothers them. It's led to the rise of a New Media that will cover the stories the Old Media buries/ignores/misrepresents.

I get that you are approaching the world from a far different perspective than mine. But let's not pretend only a tiny fraction of people care about exposing Media lies & distortions. There are a lot of people that care about.

Without New Media getting the truth out & supporting Scott Walker in WI, that story might have had a much different outcome. Just another way the Left & the Right aren't the same.

  3. You're right Brian. The New Media has flowed naturally into the evolutionary niche that was abandoned by the Old Media.
Our only danger is if the Old Media tries to dominate the niche we've colonised. One of the weapons to achieve this is Brett Kimberlin.
