Eric Holder Makes It Official:
The Power Of The Federal
Government Is Now
Invested In Defending
The 'Right' Of Minority
Non-Citizens To Vote
OK how do I sell this? Without the illegal immigrant vote,
we don't have a chance!

This story appeared in yesterday's Miami Herald:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/05/31/2826708/feds-demand-florida-cease-its.html

The Justice Department told Florida election officials that they must stop their non-citizen voters purge. Florida argues it is not violating any law.
The Justice Department ordered Florida’s elections division to halt a systematic effort to find and purge the state’s voter rolls of noncitizen voters.
Florida’s effort appears to violate both the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which protects minorities, and the 1993 National Voter Registration Act – which governs voter purges – T. Christian Herren Jr., the Justice Department’s lead civil rights lawyer, wrote in a detailed two-page letter sent late Thursday night.
State officials said they were reviewing the letter. But they indicated they might fight DOJ over its interpretation of federal law and expressed frustration that President Barack Obama’s administration has stonewalled the state’s noncitizen voter hunt for nine months.
“We are firmly committed to doing the right thing and preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot,” said Chris Cate, spokesman for Secretary of State Ken Detzner, who was ordered by Gov. Rick Scott to conduct the search for potentially ineligible voters.
DOJ’s written demand came hours after the agency refused to comment on the matter to The Miami Herald. It also followed a federal court ruling Thursday that struck down a Republican voter-registration law that a judge found too onerous.

Wait, so this is the rabbit hole we've gone down?  Too many non-citizens voting illegally in American elections happen to be minorities, so no effort can be taken to prevent these non-citizens from voting because that's discrimination?  Illegal voting MUST be allowed to continue because to enforce the ACTUAL LAWS ON THE BOOKS we'd end up violating minority rights to.........................vote illegally.

Dear. God.
This is the end game of Holder & Co.  The election is just a few months away.  It's no secret - & I defy anybody to quibble about it - that the illegal immigrants, the felons & the walking dead that have been caught voting in elections have voted Democratic by an overwhelming margin.

The Dept. Of Justice under Eric Holder isn't even hiding it any more.  They are using the power of the federal government to DEFEND VOTE FRAUD by people they know full well can't legally vote in the US in the first place.

"If it's not close, they can't steal it."  They know it, and that's why they are fighting tooth and claw to keep as many illegal voters as they can on the voting rolls in states like Florida & elsewhere.

Write & phone your Congressional representatives & demand they take action on this. The law is clear, if  you are not a citizen of this country you are not eligible to vote in it's elections, no matter what race you are.  No if, ands or buts about it.

UPDATE: Florida responds to Eric Holder's claim that election laws guarding against fraud can't be enforced because too many of the foreigners  casting votes illegally are minorities:

See you in court.

UPDATE II: Democrats really, REALLY need to get training on the whole 'how to recognize hypocrisy' thing.

    1. Yeah, hurray for removing people from the voting rolls who aren't eligible to be on it in the first place. Duh!

If you are not a citizen of this country, you are not eligible to vote in it's elections. In fact, if you do vote while you are a not a citizen, you are breaking the law, your vote is illegal, and it is indeed vote fraud.

Would you like to argue about that point further?

  4. Yes, the standard argument for allowing people who aren't citizens to remain on the voting rolls: the scare tactic that thousands of citizens will be swept up amongst the non-citizens being purged.

For people who trust Big Gov. to have all kinds of powers over their lives, it's kind of funny watching them gin up a panic over this.

  5. States have a right to remove non-citizens who have gotten their names on the voting rolls illegally. I'm not even going to debate this with you.

    1. A wise move since you've just bought into another bogus line of Republican fear-mongering boilerplate. Life sure must be scary looking at it from inside the echo chamber of lies.

    2. States have the right to remove non-citizens who have gotten their names on the voting rolls illegally. It's not debatable. Why are you even trying to defend vote fraud? If your party desperately need thousands & thousands of illegally cast votes to have a shot it has other problems it needs to be addressing.

  6. Thousands and thousands? Hmmm.

MYTH: There Is Widespread Voter Fraud Due To Undocumented Immigrants Voting
FACT: There Is "Virtually No Evidence" Of Widespread Voter Fraud And Non-Citizen Voting Is Even Rarer

During An Aggressive Campaign By The Bush Administration To Go After Illegal Voting, "Only 14 Federal Convictions For Voter Fraud Involving Non-Citizens." From an NPR segment quoting Lorraine Minnite, author of The Myth of Voter Fraud:

MINNITE: People who are here who are undocumented don't tend to go around trying to, you know, bring attention to themselves, especially doing something that is illegal.

PAM FESSLER (NPR REPORTER): She found that there were only 14 federal convictions for voter fraud involving non-citizens from 2002 until 2005, when the Bush administration had an aggressive campaign to go after such crimes. Minnite says often immigrants are confused.

MINNITE: It was absolutely clear that there were some people who just did not understand that they could not vote. [NPR.org, 11/5/10]

Brennan Center: The Penalty For Noncitizen Voting "Is So Severe" And The Benefits Are "So Minimal" That "It Makes Sense That Extremely Few Noncitizens Would Attempt To Vote."

We are not aware of any documented cases in which individual noncitizens have either intentionally registered to vote or voted while knowing that they were ineligible. Given that the penalty (not only criminal prosecution, but deportation) is so severe, and the payoff (one incremental vote) is so minimal for any individual voter, it makes sense that extremely few noncitizens would attempt to vote, knowing that doing so is illegal.

  7. Well if only a handful of non-citizens are going to be removed from the rolls, what's the big deal? And Andrew Malcolm stated at Investor's Business Daily:

    http://news.investors.com/article/613434/201206011853/justice-department-promotes-voter-fraud-in-florida.htm?p=2

"What's missing from Herren's complaint is the fact that no one is actually moved off the rolls until they are found to be ineligible. Simply sending names to county elections supervisors to confirm eligibility, which is what Florida officials are doing, discriminates against no one. Either the person is eligible to vote or not.

No one is harassed or summarily tossed off the voter rolls. There is no poll tax or literacy test."

What this boils down to is Holder & Co. claiming you can't enforce voting laws to ensure only citizens vote because too many of the people you MIGHT catch voting illegally will be minorities. And it's still nonsense no matter how you slice it.

    1. The article is complete crap and still, like you, does not address this mysterious "thousands and thousands" of illegally cast votes that you cannot seem to grasp are in fact a work of fiction from the right.

I'm done. Facts do not interest you - just the distracting sport of partisanship.

    3. Yes, and "leftard" sounds much more mature and refined.

I'm just going to assume that you guys are playing dumb, because only a truly brainwashed pod person could actually buy the party line on this electioneering voter purge disguised as deep concern over scary, scary brown people voter fraud.

Still waiting for evidence of the "thousands and thousands."
