After Months of 'War On
Women' Rhetoric & Blowing
Millions of Bucks On Ads
Targeting Women,
How's Obama Doing?

Not so hot.

Be interesting to see how much of a bounce among women - if any - Obama gets after the abortion/birth control/more government is ALWAYS the answer clusterfark of a DNC is over in North Carolina this week.
Dem's Remove Reference
To God, Jerusalem As
Capital Of Israel From
Party Platform,
Then Decide To Reinsert
Them Despite The Fact
Their Own Delegates
Clearly Voted Nay

I am not making this up.  This actually happened today:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09cEwnivdr0&feature=player_embedded

My. God. [pun intended]  Video of delegates LOUDLY BOOING PUTTING GOD BACK INTO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY PLATFORM.

Yesterday Democrats like Dick Durbin tried viciously attacking anyone who even asked them why that language had been removed from the platform.  Today they must have realized they'd made a big mistake and tried to 'fix' it by putting the language back in - only to have their own delegates loudly vote down the changes, then boo vociferously when the changes were adopted anyway.

The optics of this are beyond horrible.  I can't wait to see what tonight brings, when Bill Clinton goes head to head with the Cowboys/Giants game.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz:
The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Last night on Fox News host Shepard Smith asked DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz about a comment she had made that was being reported by the newspaper The Washington Examiner.

In the comment, Wasserman-Schultz supposedly said "We know, and I've heard no less than Ambassador [to Israel] Michael Oren say this, that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous to Israel."

Well that got back to Oren, who then denied ever saying anything like this to Wasserman-Schultz or anybody else.

Live on camera last night at the Democratic National Convention, Wasserman Shultz denied forthrightly ever saying any such thing.  She said The Examiner had 'misquoted' her.
“I didn’t say he said that,” Wasserman Schultz insisted. “And unfortunately, that comment was reported by a conservative newspaper. It’s not surprising they would deliberately misquote me. What I always say is that unfortunately the Republicans have made Israel a political football, which is dangerous for Israel. And Ambassador Oren has said that we can’t ever suggest that there is any daylight between the two parties on Israel because there isn’t. And that that’s harmful to Israel. That’s what I said, and that is accurate.”
BUT THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER HAD AUDIOTAPE.

Jim Hoft at The Gateway Pundit has the scoop:

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/09/omg-debbie-wasserman-schultz-is-caught-in-bald-faced-lie-on-national-tv-video/

In any case, this is hardly how you want your 1st day's DNC to go, with your Chair getting caught telling a bold-faced lie on camera.  There was already enough of a furor over the Democrat's changing their platform on Jerusalem & abortion, as well as removing the word 'God'.

BTW, here's Dick Durbin acting like a dick when he's asked why the Democrats made these changes to their platform. Watch how defensive he gets when simply asked for an explanation:

http://www.therightscoop.com/dick-durbin-freaks-out-and-attacks-fox-news-refuses-to-explain-why-godjerusalem-removed-from-platform/

UPDATE:  Asked today if she'd like to apologize to Washington Examiner reporter Phillip Klein for going on TV and claiming he 'deliberately misquoted her' on something ambassador to Israel Michael Oren has supposedly said, Wasserman-Shultz refused:

http://freebeacon.com/dws-i-will-definitely-not-apologize-to-reporter-klein/

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) told the Washington Free Beacon Wednesday evening that she will not be apologizing to Washington Examiner reporter Philip Klein after she falsely accused him of “deliberately misquoting” her.
“No, I definitely will not” offer Klein an apology, Wasserman Schultz said with a slight laugh as she was exiting an event meant to honor Center For American Progress founder John Podesta.
Asked if she had a message for Klein, Wasserman Schultz bristled.
“I don’t,” she said.

Just How Out Of Touch Is
The Democratic Party
Leadership Anyway?

"The Government is the only thing we all belong to."

Yes, this line was actually said during the DNC launch today in a video.  Here it is:

This is even worse than the huge misstep they made earlier this year with the 'Life of Julia' slideshow.  At least THAT only limited life-long dependency/ownership by the Gov't to just females.

Citizens do not 'belong' to the Government.  The Government belongs to THEM.   Politicians we elect and the government they make up are our EMPLOYEES.  This is American Government 101, which apparently the people running the DNC either never learned or don't believe.

The comments at the YouTube page are coming fast & most are just brutal:

Yeah, because that is what Washington, Jefferson, Madison and the other founding fathers fought and died for, so that we could belong to the government. Wow, this is pure statist doctrine. Nothing about freedom and liberty. As someone else said, I belong to NO government. The government belongs to us, they are our employees, and it appears that it is time to let a goodly number of them go because they aren't working out.

Belong to?
This is not a collective. We are not part of the state. We own it, it does not own us.

You've got to be shitting me; the government belongs to the people, not the other way around. Christ, this is pathetic.

Once again, the Dems attempt to portray opposition to their worldview as "anti-government". It's not a question of using government -- it's a question of what kind of government should we have and what it's role in our lives should be. There is a big, BIG difference between conservatives desire for a small limited government with clearly defined powers that supports the individual, and the Dems desire for an all-powerful and ever-growing nanny-state.

Short and to the point:

I belong to no government

The myopia top Dem's operate under is in full display here.  They will scratch their heads and never 'get' why there's any controversy here at all.  Hey, America IS a collective! And even it's not, it should be, you wingnutz!

Like 'The Life of Julia', they'll attempt to 'explain' why there's no problem here at all.  Like the kids singing praises to Obama back in 2009, creeping out all normal Americans, Liberals will confess to be mystified about what the problem is.

This is why we'll win. They honestly can't hide their beliefs, which are anti-ethical to what America stands for and what has made it great.  The brighter ones do 'get' it but claim they don't.  The dumber ones just repeat what they're told.

UPDATE:  The Debt clock ticked over $16 trillion just as the DNC launched today.  That's $6 trillion bucks in new debt in less than 4 years.  Wonder if anybody at the DNC even noticed?

UPDATE II: Convention moved from 74,000 seat Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina to a 20,000 seat indoor center.

And yet Fox News had fun all night scanning the crowd and showing all the empty seats.  Good thing they moved because the optics of Obama's speech on Thursday night at a 1/2 full stadium would have been terrible.

Also just found out Bill Clinton will be going head to head tomorrow night with the launch of the 2012 NFL season.  Hmmmmmmm.   Bill Clinton talking about how awesome his economic plan was back in 1996 that Obama will suddenly begin using if he gets re-elected OR the Cowboys/Giants game.

Wonder who's gonna win THAT ratings battle?

Liberal Air Head Melts Down On
Camera Over Having Her
Collective View Challenged

The real drama takes place starting around 8 minutes in, but take the time & watch the whole thing for the full context.

Two rational, logical guests, one a business professor at Wake Forest & the other is a business/finance consultant, make the mistake of making a rational, logical point to explain why job creation is lagging.

WATCH THE LOOK IN THEIR FACES as Harris-Perry launches into her rant.  They clearly are confused and wonder what kind of alternate universe they've wandered into.

".....WTF??!!"

They were simply making a point that is manifestly true: business owners own their own capital. They will not risk it unless they feel SECURE in doing so, since expanding their businesses & hiring new workers is a risky proposition when you have no idea what  your business costs will be just a year or two down the road with the hugely uncertain business climate Washington is creating.

They've got ObamaCare coming 'on-line' in 2014 and it's PROJECTED costs have already more than doubled since it was passed.  They've also had The Sun King playing 'will I or won't I let the Bush tax cuts expire?' for 3 1/2 years.

They simply CAN'T predict how much new employees will cost them. Hell, they have no idea what the EMPLOYEES THEY ALREADY HAVE will cost them in a year.  But they do know costs will be going up - dramatically.  Obama's fully intending to let the Bush tax cuts expire; added to the new insurance costs they'll be facing, businesses that shed workers over the past 5 years aren't exactly in 'hey guys let's expand the business!' mode right now.

You know how bad that business environment is out there?  Green tech companies can't stay open even though Obama's pumping billions of taxpayer dollars into them.  Solyndra's $500 million taxpayer bucks was just the tip of the iceberg.  The list of government-subsidized Green Tech companies that have closed their doors in the past 3 1/2 years is now longer than my arm - and I have a pretty damn long arm.

Even with Washington trying to pick winners and losers in the market by targeting businesses with billions of dollars in loans they can't keep these green tech companies afloat.  Imagine what it's like out there for people trying to decide whether or not to invest THEIR OWN MONEY, not some bureaucrat investing other people's money.
Was actually drawn to this because of the opening part about 'cracking the code', where MSNBC hosts take what Republicans actually are saying and then 'break it down' and 'decode' it to reveal all that wonderful racism/birtherism/hate boiling just 'neath the surface.   Also the shilling for 'fact' that Obama didn't 'really' end the work requirement for welfare.  Uh, yeah.  Using an executive order to allow the waiving of the work requirement isn't the same as ending the work requirement.  Why, if you don't apply for the waiver, of course you still have to try to find work! Duh! Thus missing the point NOBODY was supposed to get free welfare without trying to find a job.

But this Harris-Perry melt down is pure comedy gold here, folks.  Not to be missed!

From the comments at the YouTube page:

By the way, I just have to mention it. Whenever libiots like this can't deal with the fact that their caring, compassionate "War on Poverty" was a flop, umpteen trillion dollars after the fact, they never admit their ideology of progressive, do-gooder-ism has been a miserable failure. Instead, they act like they never put their failed policies into practice at all. Hence the line at 8:47 when she screeched, "We have to create a safety net for poor people" That's the window into libtard delusion.

In Case You Were Wondering
If Clint's 'Empty Chair Obama'
Skit Hit Home

Obama For America tweeted this out less than 2 1/2 hours later:

Remember this as you listen to the MSM & Progressives try to convince everybody that watched him that Eastwood is a senile old dumbass who just embarrassed himself.

Chris Matthews Is
Gettin' Upset About
The Republicans
Constant Use Of
'Racist Code Words'!

Latest Republican
Racist Code Word?
"Chicago"

"They keep saying Chicago by the way, have you noticed? They keep saying Chicago. That's another thing that sends that message - this guy's helping the poor people in the bad neighborhoods, screwing us in the 'burbs."
Hielemann helpfully interpreted Matthews statement, presumably for those too challenged to understand basic words (or as we in the business refer to them - Hardball viewers), by making this jaw-dropping statement:
"There's a lot of black people in Chicago."
As I said on Twitter last night: [start at bottom & read upward]

Somebody needs to ask Matthews: if you're the one that keeps hearing the dog whistle, who's the dog?  This is nothing more than projection, race-obsessed Progressives turning around and accusing their political opponents of being.....race-obsessed.

As Ace of Spades opined:
Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, and the whole brain trust at MSNBC seem to be playing some warped version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon called Six Degrees of Racial Dog Whistle. Give them any word a Republican says, and they will free associated it with other words to get to the "racist" claim they want to make.
Pretty much.

Expect this to get more blatant - and comical - over the next 2 months as it slowly....oh so slowly....dawns on most of Obama's base that he's actually going to lose.  After over a year of being told by their Collective Hive Mind that the mere HINT that any of those Republican candidates in the primaries stood even a ghost of a chance of beating Obama was a stupid thought, and having been reflexively taught to laugh loudly at the idea of MITT ROMNEY being the one to usher Obama out of the White House, the Progressive base is confused.

All of a sudden, their leaders have done a 180 and the panic is palpable.  Carville, Michael Moore, David Axelrod & Jim Messina grow more and more strident screaming at the base to get up off their asses and send in $ and 'get in their faces' and for the past 3 months the only response they got was a fuzzy, just-woken-up-from-sleep "Huh....what?  But....Obama's got this, man. It's in the bag.  Romney? No WAY, dude!"

Nice going there, Hive Mind. Good luck turning that ship around.

Gonna be awesome to see what the next couple of words will be that Matthews & Co. decide are new racist dog whistles.

UPDATE:

To help everybody keep track of those new racist dog whistles Republicans are constantly using to send secret racist messages to each other, Michelle Malkin has compiled a list with examples:

http://michellemalkin.com/2012/08/31/the-condensed-liberal-handbook-of-racial-code-words/

You know, words like 'jobs', 'economy', 'Constitution', 'Chicago', 'golf'.  There are so many.  Hard to keep track, isn't it? So thanks to Michelle for the legwork here!

UPDATE II:

Watch how artfully Ed Schultz on MSNBC 'discovers' a NEW code word Republicans are using to communicate surreptitiously between themselves:

"American".  No, really. That's the new code word for 'birther'.  Watch the lunacy unfold:

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2012/08/31/Ed-Schultz-Claims-Birther-Dog-Whistles-Because-Romney-Said-America-in-His-Speech

Damn you , Ed Schultz & your brilliant dog-whistle detectin' ears!  Now we gotta go find a whole new word to substitute for birther! This is even more depressing than Buzzfeed exposing our plans for the coming RAAAAAAACEWAAAAAR! I may have to start drinking.

Over 60 more days of this high comedy to go!

Really awesome how MSNBC hosts can so quickly discover all the new code words us Republicans are using to secretly communicate our racist/birther beliefs with each other.

It's almost as if they are so obsessed with race/birtherism themselves as a way of dismissing any Republican statement on the issues that they're INVENTING these dog whistles they claim to keep hearing.

But I admit that could just be me. I'm not a dog, so I never hear these supposed whistles when they go off.
