Barack Obama:
International Man
of Mystery!

We on the right wouldn't be making such a big deal over the issue of Obama's past if the MSM didn't cover the past of every Republican candidate with a fine tooth comb.
Remember how Rick Perry & Sarah Palin's college transcripts were leaked to the media within hours of their announcing their candidacies, Perry for President and Palin as McCain's VP?

The media will ceaselessly demand every single shred of background information from the Bushes, McCain, Palin, & now Romney and if their demands aren't instantly met any delay or refusal becomes national news until they get the records they want.
"Fake....but accurate!  Er...why are you all looking at me like that?!"

In 2004 CBS & Dan Rather even got caught red-handed INVENTING fake military records from the 1970's in an attempt to smear George W. Bush.

One reason the MSM can't convince Americans any longer that they are not totally in the tank for Obama is the way they not only didn't vet Obama in 2008, 3 years on into his term as President they make it a point to attack anybody who points out just how little of Obama's past is open to public scrutiny.

And someone put together a picture that perfectly sums up how an extremely large part of Obama's past has been officially sealed off from public view - and the media hasn't made a PEEP about it at the same time they are digging up 47 year old  high school pranks by Mitt Romney:

http://www.bookwormroom.com/2012/05/19/barack-hussein-obama-international-man-of-mystery/

Click on image for larger version of Obama pretending to be a
super-smart law student.

Note that's not just his college TRANSCRIPTS that are sealed.  EVERYTHING having to do with his college days are sealed - thesis papers, class attendance, all of it.

I pointed out ceaselessly back in 2008 that if Obama's college grades bore out the Narrative that he was some sort of super-genius above-it-all-intellect like he was being sold to the public in a campaign that often crossed over into personality-cult territory, we'd have seen them long ago.  If the college stuff backed up the image of Obama as highly intelligent and a successful student, they'd have come out by now.
"He's so....AWESOME!  How does he do it?
How does he even relate to mere mortals like us?!"

Instead, Obama &  his enablers have taken every single possible step to suppress any look at his past that might damage that personality-cult image that was pushed in 2008.  There is only one explanation for this: release of this information would expose Obama for what he really is: a guy who didn't earn any kind of remarkable grades at all and simply had things handed to him on the basis of affirmative action.

After having spent previous campaigns ridiculing and mocking people like Perry & Palin and George W. Bush for average grades, there is no way the MSM is going to reveal their Precious One to be anything less than a freakin' genius.

Even as his Presidency crashes and burns, his defenders keep floating this idea that maybe he's just too friggin' SMART to be President:

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-daum-obama-love-letters-maraniss-20120510,0,2453306.column

One commentator on a blog I read stated that Jimmy Hoffa's body will turn up before Obama's college transcripts do.
"You know...that's probably a pretty good bet, kid!"

Obama's past might actually be unsealed someday - but if so it'll be long after he ceases to be any use to the Democratic party, much like it didn't become cool among the Left to notice - at least for awhile - what a pair of sleazebags the Clintons were until they had exited the White House.
"My kindergarten records...uh well OK guys, I'll see what
I can do.........."

Remember that during the next 5 months as you watch the media relentlessly pursue any little thing they can dig up in Mitt Romney's past, & the past of whoever his eventual VP pick is.

There is a double standard at work here.  It's obvious and plenty of people see it.

Newark Mayor Corey Booker
Quickly Discovering What Happens When An
Articulate Black Man
Wanders Off The
Progressive Reservation

A very surprised Cory Booker is
about to get a lesson in message discipline.

Yesterday on Meet The Press Newark Mayor Cory Booker strayed off message & made the mistake of saying what he really thought  about the Obama campaign's targeting of Bain Capital in it's attack ads against Mitt Romney:

Fact is, the private sector isn't like the public sector and Booker has enough smarts to know this.  In the private sector there comes a time when  you have to cut losses and admit not every business or job can be saved. Bain Capital had hard choices to make in some cases, because not every failing business can be turned around.

Since it's not their own money, in the public sector bureaucrats have been far more willing to subsidize failure.  Witness the present Energy Secretary Stephen Chu stubbornly insisting that federal loans to green tech companies will continue even as the litany of spectacular failures such as Solyndra continue to mount. Failures that have cost the taxpayers billions & billions of dollars.
It doesn't matter how badly something is failing, more money must be poured into it because that's what public sector bureaucrats do.  They develop a 'program' then shovel other people's money into it.  It doesn't matter if the program is working or not, or getting results because these aren't results-oriented people.  As long as they have more money to throw into it, they'll keep doing it. They'll only stop when the money runs out or gets cut off.  They get a certain amount of money for their program in the budget and if they don't spend it all they get less the next year.  So the goal is to SPEND THE MONEY - results come in second, if they are even noticed.
Unlike the Federal Government, private equity companies do not have billions and billions of taxpayer dollars to squander on projects that produce no results.  They cannot spend decades pumping their shareholders money into failed projects while boasting how compassionate they are.

Note how Obama casts the story, as Bain Capital 'putting profits above people' because they couldn't save every failing business and keep every single job.

Well the private sector is SELF-CORRECTING.  You make mistakes, you are stupid, you make dumb decisions, you will end up out of business.  Public sector bureaucrats deliberately set up their system to KEEP IT FROM BEING SELF-CORRECTING.  No matter how many bad decisions they make, no matter how many dumb things they do, they can NEVER go under because they have a supposedly limitless amount of other people's money at their disposal, and they'll simply bury their mismanagement with more of it.

Investor's Business Daily put it succinctly in an editorial today:

http://news.investors.com/article/612182/201205211832/cory-booker-defends-bain-capital-record-.htm
Private equity firms such as Bain Capital just don't pick winners and losers based on ideology and "invest" with other people's money. Capitalism is a lot like gardening. It prunes the dead branches of those plants and trees deemed to have a chance to succeed in the expectation of reviving the business and reaping a word anathema to this administration — profit. Sometimes you just have to pull the weeds and the dead plants.
Cory Booker is smart enough to see this & so he said so yesterday on Meet The Press.  He's also aware the basic facts of the Obama ad are false: Mitt Romney had left Bain Capital 2 years earlier to work on supervising the Salt Lake City Olympics & also how Bain Capital created many more jobs than were lost during his tenure.

But what Cory Booker knows doesn't matter because the Obama Administration had Set The Narrative and Booker strayed from it.  He told the truth.  And you can't do that.

The backlash wasn't long in coming, and it's going to keep coming for the next week until everybody on the Left has gotten the message loud and clear.

How To Make Sure You
Don't Miss The Really
Good Stuff On
Your Twitter Feed

Two months ago I got on Twitter and have discovered what many users of that social media already know: it doesn't take long before you are following 100's of people and the feed is moving so fast you don't have time to keep up.

Take me for example.  I'm only following 482 people right now.  Yet since I started this post by typing the headline and this far into the body text, look how many tweets are now waiting in my feed:

For a long time I'd just click on the 'new Tweets' and scroll down and try to find where I'd left off reading from before.  I've quickly discovered once you get past following around 200 people this is essentially impossible

Here's a method I have come up with to make sure that I don't miss anything important. And you don't need a program like Tweetdeck to do it.

First, pick out about 20 people from your 'Following' list who's tweets you absolutely never want to miss.

In your browser (I'm using Google Chrome) create a new folder on your bookmark bar and label it 'Twitter'.  Go through your Following list, open up the timeline for each of these 20 Must See people, and bookmark them one at a time into the 'Twitter' folder.

Now open up Twitter itself, in 2 separate tab windows. In one window, have your main feed where you see the tweets from everybody you are following.  In the 2nd tab where Twitter is open, click on 'Connect' so you only see Tweets where other users interact with you.

Now start opening up new tabs and in each new tab go to your Twitter bookmark folder and open up one of your 'Must Follow' users.

Keep going until you've opened them all up.

When they are all open in separate tabs, go back to your main feed. As users in your Must Follow tabs make tweets, you will see numbers begin to show up on the tab menu showing you how many new tweets they've made.

Now you're free to read your timeline, and no matter how fast it goes, the tweets you really don't want to miss are being stored in the other tabs.

See the (2) in front of Adam Baldwin's name there? That means since I opened his Twitter page in that new tab window he's made 2 new tweets.  Jammie Wearing Fool on the far right has made 1.

There's no chance a Tweet from one of your Must Follows will sneak by you now.  They are all being stored in the other tab windows.

In the time it took me to write this post, over 270 new tweets came through my main Twitter feed.  But that's OK because I have my 'Must Follow' tab windows up and I know who among my 'Must Follows' has been tweeting & how active they've been, and to see what they've been saying all I have to do is click on their tab window and view the new tweets.  No more scrolling down, down, down, and further down vainly trying to see if I've missed anything.

Hey, Here's A Pretty
Novel Idea About The Whole
"Literary Agency Bio
Said Obama Born In Kenya"
Thing:

Maybe that literary agency's official bio of Obama from 1991 to 2007 said Obama was born in Kenya said that because......just maybe....Obama claimed it?

Just throwing that out there.  Maybe the subsequent printings & website updates through the years all contained the 'born in Kenya' statement because Obama decided it might help him financially & socially if he was 'The International' instead of just American.

I'm not a Birther.  Never have been.  The angle I'm looking at here is if Obama pulled an 'Elizabeth Warren' by seeking professional advancement by misrepresenting his place of birth.

Two reasons I'm thinking this:

1. Maraniss' new biography in which he casts Obama's college years in a completely different light when he reveals for much of his college days Obama hung out with international students - mostly Pakistani - and sought to fit in with them as an international outsider.  Not until he got intensely interested in a political future for himself as his college days drew to a close does Obama suddenly get interested in crafting an American identity for himself.

2.  Obama's already demonstrated in his autobiographies that he'll play fast and loose with the truth to put a good narrative out there for others to make himself look as appealing as possible.  The composite girlfriends are just the latest examples of this.

In that window of time from the end of his college days to the time he got serious about running for US political office, could Obama have gone around for this period of time telling certain people when it suited him that he was born in Kenya?  And were the literary agents promoting his forthcoming book people he would make such a claim to?

This seems more reasonable than Obama never bothering to read - and then correct - one of the first things ever put in print to introduce himself publicly.  If he ever saw this bio, and had not told anybody this claim of having been born in Kenya, it would have instantly leaped out at him.

If Obama himself didn't tell someone this, we're left to wonder how someone else came to decide to put Kenya down as his birthplace.  Who does that? "I have no idea where this guy was born. What the hell.....I'll just make it up....Kenya it is!"

Obama wouldn't be the first person caught embellishing his past for some sort of professional advancement.
When All Is Said & Done,
What Will The Biggest Impact
From The TrayVon Martin
Tragedy Have Been?
OK, in the next 6 months we've got to flog this racism narrative. we have to
.....uh what?  What do you mean the truth came out already?
Now what the hell am I supposed to do?!

I think it will have been demonstrating to the Old Media that they will have to change their playbook when it comes to covering cases like this.

The media learned NOTHING from the Duke Rape Case and is repeating the same patterns of behavior in which they get the initial story wrong, racially inflame a lot of people, and it takes months or sometimes even years for people to learn what actually happened. By then, the media and their allies already got whatever they wanted out of the story, so by the time the actual truth comes  out, they could care less.

The only good thing to come out of this tragedy is that the New Media can now cut drastically down on the amount of time available to those who would politicize cases like this to fulfill their own agenda. Instead of getting months & months worth of the political/social results they want from distorting such cases they now have to spend most of their time defending the false Narrative instead of getting to attack other people with it.

When race hucksters or other activists with a pet cause want to ally with the Old Media to politicize an event like this, it has a 'shelf life' between the time the event occurs and the actual facts come out.

You have to understand one thing about those who politicize these type of events: they couldn't care less what actually happened.  They have an agenda they want to push, and the narrative they quickly form is their vehicle for doing so.

They form this narrative in the absence of the actual facts.  In truth, they don't need or want to know the actual facts, because what really happened might make selling their narrative more problematic.  Best to manufacture a 'teachable moment' for the entire country based on speculation, rumor and racial inflammation.

By the time the actual facts come out, they've always moved on.  Nobody cares any more because the people pushing these narratives never gave a rats ass what actually happened in the first place.
"Oh, found out the real story? Too late, loser!"

It's always about selling their narrative.  Whether it be that America is racist or sexist or homophobic to it's rotten core, the narrative is the important thing.  Think of it like a gun.  The narrative is the gun; the 'ammo' they feed into it are stories & events they look for to fit into their gun so they can 'fire' it at people they want to attack.

They are constantly looking for 'ammo' to feed into their 'America is racist' 'gun' so they can use it to criticize others.

Since they start with The Narrative they want to tell, they are perfectly willing to omit or distort facts from the latest event they are exploiting to make it 'fit' the story they want to tell.  The basic narrative never changes, because the individual stories they grab to feed the narrative are just an excuse to keep flogging the same narrative over and over.

The playbook remains the same, only the particular cases being exploited to feed that Narrative change.

Don't miss the real impact of what happened the past 2 months as the Old Media & Al Sharpton tried their same old playbook again.
"This CAN'T come out now.......
I'm not done playing with my narrative yet! WAAAAAH!!!"

Al Sharpton & CO. were forced to start playing defense to protect their racism narrative of this story almost from the start.  They are NOT used to that happening.  They are used to getting weeks and weeks of free publicity and riding that narrative unopposed and milking it for the maximum political/social results that they desire.

This time right from the beginning  with the exposure of the truth from the New Media such as Breitbart.com, Fox News, & conservative bloggers like Dan Riehl, the Old Media suddenly found itself scrambling to defend the Narrative while Sharpton & his ilk were still rolling it out of the gate.

Instead of spending uninterrupted weeks attacking their favorite targets and pushing their racism narrative unopposed, those distorting the case so they could politicize it were forced to spend more and more of their time futilely defending the false narrative as it crumbled.

Not only were they forced to play defense, they were forced to admit they were losing the battle. Time and time again the Old Media stumbled, bumbled and self-destructed while covering this story.  Retractions were issued, corrections made, then new retractions - then even employees being fired.  As new facts came out those trying to save the false narrative started looking like the little Dutch Boy, running around jamming multiple fingers into leaks that were springing up everywhere.
"Hey don't worry guys, I've got the actual facts suppressed
so far and....... ah crap."

How effective can the Left be if the amount of time they have to set the Narrative and then relentlessly flog it before the real facts come out is shrinking and growing smaller and smaller as the New Media gets more effective at exposing what they are doing?

The answer, of course, is 'not very effective at all'.

And that's a beautiful thing.

"N-n-nooooooo!  Our Narrative...
Our Beautiful, Beautiful Narrative...
You're HURTING It....
Stop It! Go AWAAAAAAY!!!!"

[Note: Title must be read in your best LOTR 'Gollum ' voice]

"White Hispanic" George Zimmerman. Make that "White[r] Hispanic"

Say, remember just 2 months ago when the MSM was relentlessly flogging the Narrative of the TrayVon Martin shooting that:

A large hulking [& possibly intoxicated] 'white Hispanic' stalked, chased, beat up and then shot dead a small tiny black teenager who looked like he was 12 years old?

Yeah. THAT narrative.  The past 2 months as the real evidence has come out has been most unkind to it.
Yes, just your average big hulking racist cracker there.

The latest developments:

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/15/Zimmerman-medical-report

Yeah. About all they have left is the futile hope the screaming for help on the 911 audiotapes turns out to be Martin wailing for help while he was breaking Zimmerman's nose, blackening his eyes and smashing his head off the sidewalk/street.

Good luck with that.

Earlier in this blog post post I discussed how we could be watching the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case all over again.  This new evidence only compounds that impression. How in the world prosecutor Corey could leave Zimmerman's broken nose and bloody head gashes off this affidavit is beyond me.  It's more likely than ever now that Zimmerman's lawyer is going to get this case thrown out before it even reaches trial.
Hell of a job there, Angela.

The MSM tried to use it's power and influence to racially inflame this case and the New Media didn't let them do it.  Time and time again the past 2 months they've been exposed & forced to retreat, retract, try again, and fail again.

Let's hope they got the message: that kind of BS is over.  You can't hype a false narrative for months or weeks any more now that there's a New Media that can show what you are deliberately distorting, omitting & denying.

Just When  You Start To
Think You Have A Pretty
Good Grasp Of The
Gargantuan Size Of
Obama's Ego.......

....he's gotta go and do something like this and prove that you still are underestimating it.

[Gargantuan. Great word. I so rarely get to use it in a sentence.]

It's not enough that this empty suit pontificates on how deeply flawed the US Constitution is because it didn't 'solve' race & gender issues or allow the SCOTUS to get into the wealth redistribution business and all the other stupid stuff he's been saying.

We apparently still can't grasp just how awesome he is so he has to go and insert himself into the actual effective policies of every President that came before him from Calvin Coolidge onward with the exception of Gerald Ford.  Apparently all of their successes are now Obama's too, at least according to the White House's official website.

[Nobody wants to remember the Ford Presidency except for the really cool falling down videos.  Oh and the weird Manson family assassination attempts.]

He was, apparently, completely SERIOUS about that claim

As you read the newly inserted blurbs about Obama photo-bombing other President's real accomplishments in this Commentary article by Seth Mandel, try to grasp how arrogant & pathetic this is at the same time:

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2012/05/15/obama-drops-his-name-into-presidential-biographies/

That's Mandel just hitting some highlights there.  Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has a much longer list:

This sort of lame-ass resume padding just underscores that even Obama's own administration knows what a lightweight he is when it comes to actual accomplishments.  Nothing new here, anybody who's watched his career is well aware he's advanced up the ladder without ever really leaving a mark behind him anywhere.

Remember this priceless moment?
"Well he did write two awesome books about himself.
So there's that."

And now 3 1/2 years into his term as President of the United States even his own team knows how inconsequential he's been so they are trying to pad his resume this way.

Please. Think of the children!
